Matthew Foy

As a Civil Engineering Officer in the Air Force Reserves serving since 2015, I have leveraged the benefits provided by the military to pursue my passion for engineering and proudly earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural from North Carolina State University. My career has been diverse, spanning multiple disciplines, including structural, geotechnical, transportation, and civil engineering. However, I truly found my niche in Residential Land Development Civil Engineering while working at McAdams Co. During my time there, I progressed from a Design Engineer to a Design Lead and ultimately to a Project Manager, contributing to many large-scale projects throughout the Triangle area. Alongside this, I maintained my structural design knowledge by working part-time on light structural design projects, ensuring my expertise remained well-rounded and up-to-date.

Family Oriented

I chose to step away from a successful career at McAdams to pursue an exciting opportunity to grow my own engineering practice close to home in Goldsboro, NC. This decision was driven by my desire to prioritize my family, who are the center of my life. Building a business that revolves around my family, rather than the other way around, has been one of my most fulfilling decisions.

Military Service

In addition to my professional career, I’ve proudly served in the Air Force Reserves for over 10 years. I first enlisted as an Aircraft Metals Technician (Welder/Machinist) and spent my initial three years primarily on active-duty orders. Using my military benefits, I pursued my education and earned my bachelor’s degree, which opened the door to commissioning as a Civil Engineering Officer. This role has further enriched my experience in engineering and construction, offering unique challenges and growth opportunities that complement my civilian career.

Through dedication, hard work, and a commitment to my passions, I’ve built a career rooted in engineering excellence and service, with family as my foundation.
